Geography Quality Mark

May 9, 2007 · 1 Comment

Ouch, my head hurts. My boss and I have just finished writing the department evaluation form for the geography quality mark. I’ve come away feeling depressed, enthusiastic and excited all at once.

Is anyone else doing this?

We created an action plan for this academic year based on the SGQM and I remember we all felt the same mix of emotions!

It is a monster document and there is an awful lot there to gather evidence for. Some things are straightforward, others more tricky. The fact that you are willing to give it a go is fantastic! What aspects made you feel depressed / excited? Perhaps we could help each other out…?

    More information about the SGQM…

I have an electronic version of one of the SGQM drafts if anyone would like to take a look. It’s tied to the criteria on the SEF and provides suggested geography specific outcomes to help guide a departmental future. I’m happy to share our targets for this year if that would be helpful…?
